Community Outreach at Petchabun

A new community outreach program was commenced in 2010 in Lomsak - Phetchabun area under the leadership of Kerry Muir and Porn. Kerry is a long term volunteer from Brisbane Australia and Porn has been a staff member with House of Mercy since the early 1990's. Both women have found their niche and are helping to break the poverty circle in the lives of poor and disadvantaged families. So many of the poor and disadvantaged in the community are women, the elderly and children, and Kerry and Porn are making a difference in the lives of these people.

So far they have provided, with the help of teams and friends:

• A new roof for one family
• A bathroom and toilet (their old toilet was behind the bush!!)
• A new set of steps for an elderly lady
• Providing food parcels for the elderly
• Plus a friendly smile and encouragement
