The name 'Meata Chanupatham' means 'The Mercy School under the Patronage of the Highest King'.
Diligently Teaching Children to Aim for Excellence
Meata Chanupatham Christan School, adjacent to Ban Meata Children's Village was commenced in May 2002 with 90 kindergarten children. By 2013, just eleven years later, the school had 1,500 enrolled students from preschool to high school.
This outstanding Christian school with its modern buildings is an educational centre highly regarded by the Thai government. This school caters for children from the Ban Meata Children's village as well as poor children living in the surrounding 19 villages. Although the school is privately run by Mercy International/House of Mercy Foundation, the children pay no school fees.
The students, most from disadvantaged families, receive free transportation to and from school, one free uniform, a free hot lunch with milk plus other benefits, including an education in an atmosphere of God's love and mercy.
Meata Chanupatham Christian School is in the process of establishing vocational training. Programs under consideration include Agriculture, Building/Carpentry, Sewing/Tailoring, IT, Hospitality and Administration.
Teachers, Bus Drivers and Specialist Staff
The school has 66 dedicated teachers, 20 staff members for cleaning, kitchen duties and cooking, grounds-men, night-watchman, plus 17 buses, each with a driver and assistant to transport children to and from school.
