Mercy International/House of Mercy Foundation is intent on developing a program of sustainability which not only produces income but also can be part of the vocational training program and have a positive local community impact by creating jobs.

In keeping with this vision, a sewing program has been established at Ban Meata Children's Village, Phetchabun. Its current focus is to provide the school uniforms required by Meata Chanupatham School, adjacent to Ban Meata Children's Village. The 1,500 students each have 3 different uniforms.

We currently have three dedicated, full-time staff who are qualified seamstresses, and uniforms of a high quality are being manufactured. The team has also produced excellent fitted sheet sets and pillowslips for Ban Meata Children's Village in Phrae, plus 40 sets for the new Children's Village at Khon Kaen.

Other schools have also asked to have their school uniforms manufactured. To do this House of Mercy Foundation will have to establish a special legal entity and a new building. A business plan is currently being developed.
