Phetchabun

Mercy International’s first Children’s Village in Lomsak Phetchabun started in 1989.  It is situated on six acres of land, midway between Bangkok and Chiang Mai.   In 2009 the government of Thailand registered ‘Ban Meata’ (meaning Mercy Village) as a registered village on the map of Thailand.

The Children’s Village with its beautiful rural setting, gardens, trees and dams, is home to children and teenagers who reside in family focused homes, each with its own carer.

Many have been orphaned by AIDS and others have been rejected by parents and step-parents. Some were living in appalling conditions.  Most have unbelievable background stories of hurt, hopelessness and rejection.

Coming to live at Mercy International’s Children’s Village has changed all that. They now know they are accepted, special and are loved and have hope for the future.
